What is the Trader Support Service?
It is a free UK government service for businesses moving goods between Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It can complete customs and safety and security declarations on your behalf, and it offers education, training and advice on how goods move under the Windsor Framework.
Is the Trader Support Service free?
Yes, the government service itself is free. What we charge for is our work on your registration, setup and declarations, not access to the service. That work is priced case by case, depending on what you move and how often.
What is changing on 20 October 2026?
The Trader Support Service moves to a new platform, which goes live to all users on 20 October 2026. From that date all new movements have to be submitted on it. The current platform will not accept pre-lodged declarations for goods due to arrive on or after 20 October, so loads arriving from that date onwards already need the new service. We help clients get set up on it before the switch.
Do I need to register again for the new service?
No. Existing users are being migrated and do not need to register again, but they do need to pre-enrol for the new platform. Invitation emails to current users started on 1 October 2026. If you are not sure whether you have pre-enrolled, talk to us.
Do I have to be an existing client?
